We had the privilege of taking students from Beckfoot School to the New Balance EMEA head office in Warrington for a creative career day. The students had the opportunity to explore different departments within the brand including the brand marketing, social and boot/kit design teams. They were given great insight into what makes one of the world’s leading sport and lifestyle brands a success, as well taking part in a design workshop to get their creative juices flowing.
In the second half of the day, the group was tasked with creating a design and marketing plan for a new version of the Furon V8 boot worn by the likes of Ebere Eze and Bukayo Saka. It’s fair to say that we definitely had some future tastemakers on our hands!
We truly value being able to provide these opportunities for young people. Considering how much Gen Z influence the direction of brands like New Balance and others, giving them this type of exposure to the sportswear and athletic industry is priceless.
We’d like to give a huge thanks to Ellise Newby and the amazing team at New Balance for making this happen. We hope to be back soon! At the Eze Foundation, we are committed to empowering young people through opportunity—and this event was a perfect example of the impact that exposure, mentorship, and industry connections can have.
